How long does it take to completely a one character (full body) art piece on average for you?
I'm not really sure... I guess it really depends on colorying style - like for example, if it's a simple cellshade, it would probably take at least 6 hrs starting from scratch. If it's a mixture of cellshade+softshade, it would take longer.

Completed my portfolio!I DID IT. I FINALLY DID IT.
I started working (seriously) Friday night, worked through the entire day from 9am - 3am (the next day) for weekends, and finished it 4pm on yesterday and sent it off at 7pm.

Really, it almost never snows in Tokyo. It's like one place the snow clouds avoid visiting in Japan. I would have been ultra happy if I didn't had to go out to print and mail it off before the post office closed (the deadline was today, so I had to send it by yesterday.)

Thank you all those who sent the notes to participate! ;w; I'm really stunned by the number of notes that I got (actually, I was more shocked lol) - it's really great to have these many people having interest in participating in some random project of mine

I hope you can enjoy this , and hopefully there can be an art book!

If you haven't received any reply from me if your note was sent before the apps were paused do tell me.
Please be noted, that any applications that were noted to me after the journal clearly said it was "on hold" were ignored... I was a little disappointed to see how many people didn't read or ignored the status that I clearly wrote at the head of this journal. It's really nice to see many people being interested in participating (I really am), but it's hard to trust someone who can't follow what's been asked

So, I would like to propose a new long term project that I've been thinking for a while - a massive collab-project!

Here's the plan: Each person can choose a pokemon from the 1st gen, and draw it with an OC of yours.

Hopefully there can be 151 different artists who can participate in this! XD
Also, this is still not decided yet, but if we can get enough participants + people are willing to put hard work we might create an art book!

Objective
_{Draw and submit an illustration of your original character + a pokemon that suits your oc the most.

Deadline is still undecided. But plenty of time I assure you XD (since we're all busy)}

Terms/Rules_{You may choose any OC of your liking.
There are no restrictions - unless if it's heavily fandom-influenced-oc (ex. FC from Naruto/Bleach/OP/etc.), it might be declined due to appearance (clothes) issues.

You must avoid clothing your OC in fandom clothes.
Which means, for example, if your OC that you choose is from Bleach fandom, you may not dress him/her in clothing like shihakusyos.

One person can enter once with one character only.
Even if you have many OCs, you can only choose one to enter. Even if you want multiple pokemons, you can only choose one. Don't be greedy

Only from the 1st gen pokemons
Aka, the first 151. Nothing else.
The list at the bottom, so you can see which pokemons are still available. First comes first serve

You must choose a pokemon that suits your OC.
Which means, it shouldn't just be plainly your favorite.

The illustration should be in normal form.
Fullbody, halfbody, etc. Anything else is fine Must be fully colored. Except for CHIBIS - the only exception is that you happen to draw them with full background. No transparent bgs - that applies to both chibis AND normal ones.
However, if you want to make it into artbook nominees, you should put hard work into it to make it into excellent quality.
A5 size with 300dpi is the best.
